Direct-selling company Thirty-One Gifts will move its national distribution center from Central Ohio to Flower Mound, bringing several hundred jobs and becoming the North Texas suburb’s second-largest employer.
Cindy Monroe, founder and CEO of Thirty-One Gifts, and Lou Fratturo, vice president of Operations, will talk about the company and its new facility Friday morning in Flower Mound, according to information provided Thursday by the city.
Thirty-One Gifts expects the Flower Mound facility to employ 650 people, and will begin hiring in January. That will make the company Flower Mound’s No. 2 private employer, following the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, a city spokeswoman said.
In addition to moving its distribution operations, the Columbus, Ohio-based direct seller said Thursday that it will relocate its headquarters, according to Columbus Business First, a sister publication of the Dallas Business Journal.
The company said it has acquired the New Albany, Ohio, headquarters of Bob Evans Restaurants and will move 300 corporate jobs into those offices in January. The headquarters relocation will be a short move from its current offices.
Thirty-One Gifts’ distribution operations, however, will move more than 1,000 miles to a 651,000-square-foot space in Flower Mound during the second quarter of 2019.
The 800 employees currently working at the distribution center in Ohio have been invited to relocate to Dallas, Columbus Business First reports. Those who do not will be eligible for a severance package and outplacement services.
“Our Columbus location has served us well and we’re proud and excited to maintain our headquarters – and 300 jobs – here,” CEO Cindy Monroe said in a release.
“Moving the distribution center to Texas, however, puts our distribution operations closer to areas of significant growth potential for us in the southwestern U.S. and Mexico,” she added.
