A Denmark-based robotics firm has opened its first U.S. headquarters in Las Colinas.
OnRobot, which manufacturers robotic equipment used in manufacturing, plans to grow its employment to about 35 staff members in the new office located in the Urban Towers buildings on State Highway 114 in Irving.
“North America is rapidly becoming one of our primary markets and we looked at several locations from coast to coast before settling on Dallas,” Kristian Hulgard, general manager of OnRobot’s Americas division, said in a statement. “Not only was it the prime location for our business, we were also pleased to see the tech boom that has been going on in the city.
“As more manufacturers and tech companies realize the benefit of growing their businesses in this region, OnRobot will also benefit from the quality of talent that is sure to follow.”
The company plans to use the new Irving office for training, demonstrations and sales meetings.
OnRobot says it provides hardware and software that is used with collaborative robots from a variety of robot manufacturers including Universal Robots, KUKA, FANUC and Yaskawa. The company was established in 2015, and is headquartered in Odense, Denmark, with additional offices in Germany, China, Malaysia and Hungary.
The company said it picked the Las Colinas building because of its location 15 minutes from the DFW International Airport.
“The location allows the company ample opportunity to expand its US headquarters as staff is added — without having to relocate,” the firm said in a statement.
