City of Houston Mayor John Whitmire Presents a Proclamation for YTexas Day!, as City of Houston and YTexas Officials Highlight the 5th Annual YTexas Summit to be held at Daikin Park on September 24

HOUSTON, TX – (July 29, 2025) – City of Houston Mayor John Whitmire, City Council Member Joaquin
Martinez, YTexas representatives and business leaders gathered at City Hall to present a Proclamation for
YTexas Day! recognizing the impact of YTexas bringing together industry executives, economic development
professionals, community leaders and educators to share projects, build cross-regional relationships, drive
innovation and showcase Texas’ dynamic business environment.

“I’m excited to welcome the YTexas Summit to Houston on September 24, 2025, at Daikin Park,” stated City
of Houston City Council Member Joaquin Martinez. “As the Council Member that represents our Central
Business District, I’m excited to see Houston take center stage for a summit that blends business, sports,
tech, and education into a powerful vision for economic development. We're in a new era where cities like
ours compete globally-and this summit helps tell the Texas story, the Houston story, by connecting leaders
across industries and communities.”

The 5th Annual YTexas Summit will kick off with a special reception on Tuesday, September 23 at Shell
Energy Stadium, home of the Houston Dynamo FC and Houston Dash, followed by a full day of expert
panel discussions, networking and collaboration on Wednesday, September 24 at Daikin Park, home of
the Houston Astros, and conclude with a Day to Explore Houston on Thursday, September 25.

2025 YTexas Summit keynote speakers include Andrew Yaffe, CEO of Dude Perfect, Steve Kean, President
and CEO of the Greater Houston Partnership, Norman Garza, Jr., Executive Director of Texas Space
Commission and Dr. Laura Murillo, President and CEO of the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
