The acquisition of Dallas-based Landes Foods will help a 71-year-old Carrollton brand become one of the largest tortilla manufacturers in the United States.

Rudy’s Tortillas announced Monday its purchase of Landes, another tortilla and chips manufacturer, for an undisclosed amount. The deal adds eight production lines to Rudy’s operations, giving it 26 lines at its 248,000-square-foot Carrollton plant.

Landes co-founder and president Matt Landes and vice president of sales Tommy Rowland will join the Rudy’s team, as well as members of Landes’ quality assurance, marketing and plant management divisions.

CEO Louis Guerra, Chief Operating Officer Rudy Guerra Jr. and Vice President of Sales Joe Guerra will continue to manage Rudy’s.

“In less than a decade, Landes Foods has built an impressive brand that focused on innovation and high quality products with unmatched customer service that is widely acknowledged in the national restaurant industry,” Louis Guerra said in a prepared statement. “Their relationships paired with our loyal list of clients will position Rudy’s Tortillas to better serve our national restaurant customer base.”
