Houston-based Identity Automation has acquired Austin-based 2FA Inc. and its 16 employees, according to a statement from the company.
The value of the deal, which closed Aug. 17, was not disclosed. Identity Automation used cash and financing for the deal, according to CEO James Litton. While this was the company’s first acquisition in its history, it won’t be its last, Litton said.
“This is the first of what we view as an ongoing strategy around growing the company,” Litton told the HBJ. “We’ll take a look at a number of different possibilities to continue to grow the company through acquisitions.”
Identity Automation, which doubled its Houston operations last year, is an automated security services company for industries not in need of round-the-clock IT support. Austin’s 2FA is a cybersecurity company focused on authentication and was founded in 2006 by Greg Salyards and Shaun Cuttil, according to its website. Salyards, 2FA’s president and CEO, will stay on as the principal sales consultant.
