Houston-based The Neutex Group has inked a joint venture with a Hong Kong company that will result in $40 million manufacturing facility and 250 local jobs.

The deal, announced Oct. 6, gives Neutex exclusive manufacturing rights to a new LED light that eliminates bacteria in the room. The new joint venture, called IllumiPure, will be based in Houston and controls the rights to the intellectual property, according to Neutex President John Higgins.

IllumiPure will build a new facility on Neutex’s campus near George Bush Intercontinental Airport. The 40,000-square-foot facility is expected to be completed by the fall of 2017. It’s roughly a $30 million to $40 million investment and will create 250 jobs. Initially, the plan is to hire up to 30 sales people who will begin marketing the product in North and South America, Higgins said.
